At Humu, our mission is to make work better. Over the past few years, we’ve made great strides towards that vision. We’ve helped customers across a range of industries make it easier for managers and their teams to build better habits, co-create more inclusive cultures, and navigate unprecedented shifts.
We’ve been able to do that by sending nudges in 20+ languages to 40k+ teams in 50+ countries. In the past two years alone, we’ve seen 10x growth in the number of people getting nudges.
In light of these strides and our recent Series C raise, we’re expanding Humu’s leadership team by adding world-class expertise in sales, engineering, and data science. We’re excited to bring on three leaders with unique and diverse perspectives, and whose work and approaches align with our company values.
”I'm thrilled to welcome TJ, Sophie, and Stefanie to the leadership team. They are all phenomenal experts of their craft, amazing leaders and passionate about our mission of helping make work better for everyone.” - Wayne Crosby, Humu co-founder
Join us in welcoming the newest members of Humu’s leadership team:
TJ Williams, Chief Operating Officer
TJ Williams joins Humu as the Chief Operations Officer. He was recently at Degreed where he was the Chief Revenue Officer for 4.5 years, overseeing all client facing teams globally. While there, the company grew over 10X in Revenue, raised $275M, and expanded from 130 to 650 employees.
Prior to Degreed, TJ started off as a glorified "delivery man and caterer" in Pharmaceutical sales, but quickly pivoted into technology. Since then he has sold and led teams for some of the largest names in the industry (IBM, Oracle and Google). Before Degreed he spent time at Dropbox leading the Americas outbound sales organization. T.J. lives in Austin with his wife and three girls, and graduated from Texas A&M University. He loves the mountains, skiing, golf, and ice cream!
Sophie Alpert, Head of Engineering
Sophie leads the software engineering team at Humu, where her first priority is making sure that the people around her are supported as human beings. On the technical side, she strives to make sure that Humu's product and infrastructure are high-quality, robust, accessible, and considerate. Before Humu, Sophie managed the team at Facebook that developed React, an open-source library used by 1 in 4 software developers worldwide.
Sophie really enjoys good food, is legally considered a celebrity by the United Kingdom's Advertising Standards Authority, and idly dreams of one day opening a queer café–library.
Dr. Stefanie Tignor, Head of Data Science and Insights
Stefanie's team uses data to model how humans can thrive at work and predict the highest impact levers for change in a given unique organizational context. Stefanie was one of Humu’s first employees and led the development of our insights pipelines and ranking algorithms before Humu even had an office. Over the past four years, she has built out the Data Science team and expanded its impact through her product vision and technical leadership. Prior to Humu, Stefanie was a professor at Northeastern University in Boston. There, she conducted and published original research on how technology and data science can be leveraged to better understand personality and well-being, and taught courses in consumer psychology.
Stefanie also conducted data science research on personality and well-being for Google and the Global Corporate Challenge (now Virgin Pulse). Her first job was as a ski instructor at the age of 12.
We’re thrilled to welcome these talented individuals to our leadership team. Their experience and expertise will help guide our efforts as we develop new products to unburden and empower managers. Stay tuned for all to come!
